5 Amsterdam Hidden Gems

You'll get a whole different experience from other touristic sights in Amsterdam.

There’s not a website where
Amsterdam is not portrayed as a unique destination. This colorful, vibrant and young city, still feels as if the past continues to influence its picturesque overview in general. Much of this city is commonly known from mainstream advisors on the Internet, but there are some not-well-known places in this town. Start adding these hidden gems to your upcoming trip to Amsterdam!
Here it is, a list of alternatives not everyone knows about when visiting this Metropolis:
  1. Schellingwouderpark
Near the end of Nieuwendammerdjk in Amsterdam Noord, there’s a park not yet known by tourists (and locals included). This is a city park opened in January 2010 and is approximately 10 hectares long. If you seek for some solitude and relaxation (or just want to escape from the typical), this is definitely your choice.
  1. Waterlooplein
This is the oldest flea market in Amsterdam. Here you can find anything, from antiques to unusual knick-knacks, with over 300 stalls on any given day. This market tends to get a good amount of customers, but it’s a good place to check for tourists.
  1. Condomerie
The Condomerie is indeed one of the most peculiar shops you’ll visit in Amsterdam, and the reason is simple: This store is marketed as the world’s first condom specialty shop. You can find all sorts of condoms from different flavors to sizes and style. If you want to visit, you’ll be able to find it in the Red Light District. This is more of a funny, unusual visit for the record.
  1. Vondelbunker
There can’t be any more secrecy than this underground bunker has. If you’re passing through Vondelpark be sure to check under a bridge, there you’ll find the Vondelbunker. What’s so great about this place is that it hosts activities and events from different types. There are several bomb shelters around Amsterdam, but this is one you should visit.
  1. Kattenkabinet
Imagine there was a museum made just for the worshipping of cats… Say no more! Kattenkabinet is a place with many paintings and drawings that feature these little felines. This unique museum is located inside a 17th-century house, all you have to do is look for number 497 and a black cat on top of the entrance.
Amsterdam is often considered the Venice of the North, and the name serves it right because of the high demand of touring the city has. Just make sure you don’t let these exotic places off your list when visiting. To ensure details are all covered, Cruise Planners – Jason Hantman will be glad to be present and cooperate towards a well-planned experience. Give them a call! You’ll thank them later.
Don't fall into tourist traps, learn to visit this city in a different way.

Costa Cruises: Affordable Sails!

All Costa Ships are a piece of art themselves as they are full of sculptures, paintings, murals, and hand.crafted artisan furnishings.

Part of the meaning of traveling is about meeting someplace new, a destination where you’ve been dreaming of visiting for a long time. That desire of setting off is the driving force of tourism, and you can easily tell at the moment you get on a plane or cruise. For a long time, experienced cruisers have managed to bring back what made tourism such a demanded activity. Costa Cruises are the perfect example of travel experience, and you’ll come to see why.
Costa Cruises is one of the main brands that Carnival Corporation & plc acquired in 2000. Today, it stands as one of the main operating companies in the Carnival group. Costa Cruises Group is the leading responsible for controlling group activities in Europe and operations in Italy.
Thanks to the ownership of Carnival Corporation, Costa’s fleet department enjoyed the largest expansion in its history.
Ever since the year 2000, Costa released many refurbished ships to the market, starting with Costa Atlantica. This 2114-passenger ship was the largest one ever built by a European company. It was also the first ship that featured balconies. Costa Atlantica was also the first to offer sensibility in its aesthetical designs, which are attributed to Joe Farcas, who played a significant role in every new-build between Atlantica and Diadema.
The Costa Diadema is one of the most recent ships, debuting in November 2014 with more space and a total passenger capacity of almost 5000 (3,693 passengers at double occupancy). Coincidentally, it’s the same size and shape of Carnival’s Dream Class and is also the biggest ship in Costa Cruises’ fleet.

Onboard activities

Overall, every cabin inside the ship is equipped with all you could ever need to ensure a peaceful and enjoyable stay: air conditioning, private bathrooms, cable radio, satellite TV, and safety.
Dining is remarkably affordable, and service pays off on all sailings. Activities onboard are little, but they're fun.
Onshore excursions are broad and custom-made: you can either enjoy relaxing trips while exploring the local nature or go for more adventurous and energetic tours. There’s also the possibility to explore the surrounding area of your destination in an eco-friendly way; this is both a profitable and socially engaging.

Analysis of cruise critic reviews

Half the passengers who traveled on Costa’s ships have returned home with great memories: it turns out that 48% of travelers loved the experience altogether. There’s an interesting review that states “very good value for money, but you get what you pay for.” This is an explicit reference to the availability of Costa ships, so be sure not to go with expectations too high.
To conclude, Costa Cruises are a suitable choice for travelers who wish to enjoy an excellent set of benefits without spending too much money. They are nicely equipped for a relaxing trip without complications.
