The Guide to Packing: What to Bring

Travel documents, cash, ID, passport and credit cards should always be with you when traveling.

Trips and vacations should always be planned well, from the moment you buy the ticket you need to start making the arrangements to ensure your experience will be enjoyable. In a past entry, I covered the subject of packing, explaining the importance of organizing your package appropriately for your trips.

With that topic cleared, there’s another question that comes to mind when packing your things, “what should I take with me on this trip?” All travelers have been through this. Not being able to tell which things to carry, putting things that are not used and end up as extra weight.

Check this list of the things that need to be with you on every single trip you are willing to do, in order of importance:

Personal documents: Perhaps you thought bringing your documents wasn’t that necessary, but these should be mandatory for your trips no matter where you’re headed. Your passport, citizenship (in the case of traveling by land or sea), custody documents or written consent (in the case of traveling with children) and photocopies of every travel document in the event of emergencies.

Belongings: Important things of daily use like money, mobile devices, headphones, cameras, and chargers should be on your list. These are the things you will be using consistently, no matter where you are. Not a single thing should be missing.

Health and personal hygiene: Having the prescriptions for your medicines should be your priority when packing along with a first aid kit, also bring personal hygiene items like your toothbrush, shampoo, sunscreen and hand sanitizer.

Clothes: In this section, you might want to be very organized and choose what you’ll be taking with you. The standard list of clothes to have in mind should be sleepwear, pants, shorts, shoes (comfortable to walk with), underwear, t-shirts, and sunglasses. The type of clothing depends on the destination you’re headed.

Optional: Most of these are for your comfort and to make the trip experience less stressful, and some are a must for certain travelers: books, portable games or consoles, a travel pillow, and blankets.

If you’re unsure about the destination you’re headed, make sure you bring a travel guide or language guides to help you out. If you made your list and properly checked everything, the chances of leaving things behind will be scarce. Still, check as many times as possible to avoid that. Packing Secrets for Travelers

There are ways to organize the space in your baggage to reduce weight and allow you to carry more for your trips.

The main thing about going on trips is the planning: a well-planned trip determines the results of the journey itself. But those who travel seem to forget the most annoying part of the voyage, making them leave it for the last part, and that is packing, the pain of any traveler.

As preparation is essential for those willing to go on a trip, the process should be done appropriately and carefully to avoid common mistakes like leaving stuff out or forgetting that toothbrush you’re used to carrying. The best tips and packing secrets can be found here, check them and have them in mind when packing:

Practice: This one might sound a little weird to consider, but it proves to be very helpful. Practice your packing and unpacking before departing. This will help you sort things out and knowing what you’re bringing with you. The moment you arrive at your destination you’ll be ready for unpacking properly.

Weight: The weight factor should be checked as well, organize your things by weight and then put them in a way that carrying is not painful. To make your bag easier to carry, the things that weigh the most should be in the center, closer to your spine.

Leave zero gaps: Arrange your stuff in a way that there are no spaces between them, press them the more you can to open up more space, this is helpful in cases when you feel that there’s no more room available. This pressure is great to avoid things to shift during the flight, as well.

Only the necessary: The title is self-explanatory, you must focus on the things you’ll need for your trip over the things that you think “might” be needed. Sort things out before making a decision and be sure that you’re not taking anything you won’t be using at all.

Going on a trip is all about the details. A well-organized bag will be very useful when you’re on your chosen destination, so you will only have to focus on your trip. Cruise Planners – Jason Hantman offer the best destinations for you to cruise, do not have second thoughts, grab your organized bag and sail with them!
Always put the things that weigh the most in the center and closer to your spine, this focuses the weight on you rather than pulling you back.
