Emerged in the 10th century after struggling for control of the Baltic Sea. Denmark’s history has been influenced mostly because of its geographical location between the North and Baltic seas. This Scandinavian country comprises two autonomous constituent countries of the North Atlantic Ocean.

Nyhavn (Danish for New Harbour), is a waterfront and entertainment district. This place has buildings that give a feeling of going back to the old style back in the 17th century, with old wooden ships on the harbor. The south side of the canal of Nyhavn has been reserved for museum ships from the Danish National Museum. The Memorial Anchor is a commemoration monument to remind the 1700 Danish officers and sailors that served in the Navy, Allied Forces and Merchant Fleet, who sacrificed their lives during World War II.
