Cuba is magical because of the traditions and customs of their people. |
Ever since Cuba opened up its borders to the U.S. in 2016, a sudden increase of outbound tourism occurred. Most tourists took advantage of this to enjoy the many different things this island’s got to offer. But at the beginning of this year, there was a sudden drop of American travelers willing to visit. What happened? Did it turn unworthy to plan a trip there? Cuba remains as a hotspot for tourism; what did change were the restrictions and relationships with the country.
President Donald Trump announced he would reverse the measures taken under Obama’s administration, causing restrictions to Cuba to return and blocking business deals between these two countries.
Due to this reversal, traveling to Cuba will cause travelers to feel less willing to visit compared to last year. But despite that, there’s still many Americans willing to go and enjoy places such as Havana, Cayo Largo del Sur, and Varadero, which is a beach resort town on Hicacos Peninsula.
Annually, Cuba still maintains an active flow of visitors from all over the world, which is the primary source of revenue that the island has. With the measures of the U.S. President, the economy will be strongly affected. Almost every airline back in 2016 opted for booking as many flight routes into Havana as possible. Now, many of those flights are not that full, and some are just empty.
In a general look, it seems as if Cuba is getting less attention compared to previous years. But keep in mind that nothing has changed in matters of tourism; the island remains open to visitors like you.
So, to summarize: is it worth planning a trip to Cuba? Yes, it still is. All you have to do now is start planning your trip and get the tickets.
